Winter Blues? Add Funky Florals!

A warm, neutral palette is great for the winter, but sometimes we need to be reminded just how mood-lifting colorful florals can be.  With your holiday themed decor, don't be afraid to step out of the red, green, and white box and integrate pops of color in your space.  One quick and easy way to do this is by adding a bright, beautiful accent rug.  Like the ones shown above from Anthropologie, you can still keep things neutral, but give your space a splash.  Here are a few examples of how you can keep the warm palette and add a few cool accent rugs.

Kim Parker Home is a perfect destination for finding great floarl accent pieces.  They can be used in any room in your home.  Brighten a white washed kitchen, accent wood textures in the living room, or even compliment the tile in your bathrooms.  The possibilites are limitless!

This beautiful hand tufted rug by Amy Butler would be a great addition to a cream and taupe color palette.  And would be unintrusive to your holiday decor.  The key to making it work is being consistent with your colors and textures.  It's okay to be a little off beat, but use your decorator eye to avoid colorful clutter.

On those harsh winter days, what accents in your home will you use to brighten the mood in your space?  Would love to hear your ideas!
